AccuWeather.com® has announced the development of an iMODE and a WAP site for MOVISTAR, the biggest carrier in Spain. MOVISTAR has over 19 million subscribers in Spain as well as many other subsidiaries in South America.
These services were developed with the cooperation of Telemet, Inc. the exclusive distributor of AccuWeather® products and services in Spain, Portugal and South America. Telemet offered its translation services and worked side by side with AccuWeather’s meteorologists to obtain highly localized weather content.
The weather site produced in iMODE and WML 1.2, available for MOVISTAR subscribers was completely written in Spanish. It has AccuWeather.com® by Telemet content -including current conditions, Hour-by-Hour™ forecasts, maps and satellite images from Spain and the World. MOVISTAR subscribers have access to weather data and graphics from every town and city from Spain as well as over 50,000 world locations. The information is coordinated by AccuWeather’s International Forecasters Department.
Subscribers can access the service by a monthly subscription or by a pay per access method. The WAP site can be access through MOVISTAR’s eMoción.
